Practice Areas

Whether you have been arrested or charged with a criminal violation, the choices you make at this time can affect your life long after your legal matter is resolved.
At Wampler & Passanise, our lawyers understand what’s on the line: your freedom, your reputation and your constitutional rights.

DUI/DWI Defense

Driving while intoxicated (DWI) cases may be among the most prevalent in this day and age, but they can negatively affect your record if not met with a strong defense. It’s common to think that if you are arrested and charged with a DWI that you must plead guilty. However, there are many defenses to being charged with DWI in Missouri. It is important to have an experienced legal team to find these flaws in cases that may be overlooked.

Our top-rated lawyers at Wampler & Passanise are qualified to help you challenge alcohol-related offenses. We regularly contest DWI charges and assist with the administrative hearings required to recover our clients’ driver’s licenses.

Drug Charges

Drug charges may be more common in this day and age, but they can pose serious effects on you and your family if not handled properly. At Wampler & Passanise, our drug defense lawyers are among the most experienced attorneys in Springfield. We are ready to aggressively defend your case.

No matter your age or class, a poorly-handled drug charge can cause lasting damage to a once clean reputation. A friend or colleague may tell you that a drug offense is something easily handled by yourself if you find yourself caught with “a little of this” or a “bag of that.” Don’t make this mistake. Hire an attorney that understands drug crimes.

White Collar Crimes

Charges of white collar crime can have life-altering legal consequences. Whether your case will be tried in Missouri’s state courts or you face charges on a federal level, the team at Wampler & Passanise has the experience required to combat the charges against you.

Because these crimes are often extensively investigated before charges are filed, it takes a skilled legal team to scrutinize the evidence submitted and navigate the criminal process effectively. Our lawyers have decades of combined experience and have gained national recognition for our work in criminal defense. We have the knowledge necessary to build a strong defense and protect your career, your family and your freedom.

Sex Offenses

The stakes are high whether you are facing allegations or have been charged with committing a sex crime in Missouri. Even if you are not convicted, an accusation could destroy your professional or personal relationships. A criminal conviction could create more problems. Penalties often attached to a conviction include sex offender registration, incarceration, significant fines and more.

The consequences of being convicted can stay with you for years, but receiving skilled legal assistance can help protect your rights and your reputation. At Wampler & Passanise, our award-winning attorneys bring decades of courtroom experience to your defense when a sex crime matter jeopardizes your future.

Violent Crimes

Murder and other violent crime offenses are serious matters with severe repercussions. If you are convicted of this offense, you could spend the rest of your life in prison or be sentenced to death. When your freedom and, potentially, your life are on the line, you need an attorney who not only knows the system but also has experience with these complex cases.

At Wampler & Passanise, we know that prosecutors do everything in their power to convict individuals charged with committing these crimes and pursue harsh penalties during sentencing. We make it our mission to anticipate prosecutors’ argument and secure favorable results for our clients. Our criminal defense attorneys have handled many high-profile violent crimes cases over the course of their careers. They use their vast understanding of the law to design an approach that effectively combats the charges and protects your freedom. From our firm’s location in Springfield, we represent individuals throughout Missouri.

In 2016, the Missouri Legislature signed into state law new criminal record expungement rules. Those new criminal record expungement rules allow for expungements of most misdemeanors and many felonies, including drug offenses. In the past, only very few crimes were eligible for expungement.

Having a criminal record can exclude you from being eligible for employment, loans and many government benefits. While the expungement process does not work as a pardon, it does begin to return you to the position you were in before you were arrested, charged or convicted of a criminal offense.

Federal Cases

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
